Alaskans, we are at a crossroads. Use logic and reason. Consider history. Recognize the safeguards.

The PFD problem has not been our oil tax policy; the PFD problem has been a lack of spending restraint.

Unless we turn the tide of production decline, Alaska will no longer exist as we know it.

We maintain that the most important fish in Alaska are the fish on Alaskans’ dinner plates.

What we need now is factual budget information to know whether and where we can reduce and whether and where state services are lacking.

OPINION: Axing fundamental services to gain support for a wide-reaching budget plan would be wrong and dangerous.

OPINION: As women who serve in the Legislature and who voted for the bill that created Alaska's new oil tax policy, we want to lend a unique perspective on why we voted to pass Senate Bill 21 and why we will vote NO on 1 this August.
