As students go back to school, it is a good time to reflect on what we expect from our education system and how to meet those expectations.
April is Autism Awareness Month, and this year the Legislature has the chance to meaningfully support autistic children and their families. There are many hardships and burdens faced by the parents of autistic children, and a simple fix will help alleviate the financial burden on autistic families.
Alaskans are paying far too much for heating and motor fuel. Prices have remained high in Alaska even as prices have plummeted in the Lower 48. All across the country, families and businesses are struggling due to the recession, and Alaskans are suffering just as badly because we have the highest fuel prices in the nation.
