OPINION: Ordinary Alaskans must take the lead in making sure Pebble cleans up the mess it already has made.

OPINION: I shake my head in disbelief that a think tank executive from Outside would tell Alaskans to not worry about the Pebble mine. If defending our homeland brands us "activists" and our partners "left-wing environmental groups," then so be it.

Today, the Pebble Limited Partnership will unveil its latest round of tactics in its quest for North America's largest copper and gold mine, planned for the headwaters of Bristol Bay's prolific salmon fishery. It appears that by hiring The Keystone Center, PLP is doing little more than attempting to purchase social acceptance under the guise of public outreach.
