We all know that carrying a bag of dog poop isn’t among our top 10 favorite activities, but disposing of it properly is so important.

According to the Muni, Martin v. Boise does allow some leeway, but it’s the choice of where to apply it that bothers me.

Aside from the yuck factor of humans and dogs stepping in it, pet waste left on the ground will invariably find its way into our much-loved creeks and lakes.

Remember, the MOA estimates that about 20 tons of pet waste hits the ground every day.

I would implore the mayor and Assembly to work on resolving this threat to Anchorage and its citizens now, rather than waiting to debate it this summer
