We have long said that development of a mine at Pebble may not be our first choice for an economy for our region, but in the past 20 years it has really been the only choice.
We believe co-existence between fishing and mining is possible, and that our fish and water can be protected.
At APC, our leadership doesn’t have the luxury of making emotional decisions. Every aspect must be considered before the corporation forms a position on Pebble.
OPINION: If President Obama decides to visit Dillingham on his trip to Alaska, I hope he visits other parts of the region for a more complete picture of the Bristol Bay economy.
