Although Point Lay doesn’t get many fat-biking visitors, we’ve been graciously welcomed and have eaten our fill.

With the help of the locals, our long fat-tire bike journey was a success -- despite the ground blizzards.

Being self-sufficient and still remarkably comfortable on long winter bike expeditions in Alaska is a novel concept.

The fatbike is an obvious choice for year-round adventurers and cyclists in Alaska. From beaches to alpine tundra, gravel river bars, snow trails and spring crust, the fatbike works. Homer will celebrate the bikes beginning Feb. 21.
