PALMER — A three-vehicle accident temporarily closed the northbound Glenn Highway at the Knik River Bridge on Wednesday.
The accident was reported just after 2 p.m., closing the Glenn to northbound traffic. Around 3:30 p.m., police announced the highway had reopened.
Four people reported injuries, according to Ken Barkley, deputy director of Mat-Su Borough emergency services. The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately clear.
The highway bridges are extremely icy, Barkley said.
Anchorage police were assisting Alaska State Troopers with traffic control, according to a police update. Drivers may still experience delays in the area.
