Michael Selden began work on his Rondy snow sculpture "State Bird" on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. Selden who is competing in the solo division of the Alaska State Snow Sculpture Championship said, "my shoulder still hurts from last year." Spectators can view carvers working on their entries all week and can cast their vote for the People's Choice Award. Judging will be at 10 a.m next Sunday. (Bill Roth / ADN)
