Vic Fischer who served in Alaska’s territorial Legislature and its state Senate, and the last living delegate to the Alaska Constitutional Convention, celebrated his 96th birthday on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A line of well-wishers drove past Fischer in the parking lot of Barnes & Noble. Fischer said It was “thrilling to have them come out on a day when they can be anywhere in Alaska. They’re here adding to the excitement.”

Fischer, a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts, purchased Girl Scout cookies to be given to well-wishers, and encouraged people to donate to Girl Scouts of Alaska in lieu of gifts.
