Photos: Fourth of July parades and parties draw crowds to the streets in Anchorage and Juneau
In Anchorage, dozens of groups marched and slow-rolled around the Delaney Park Strip on a warm and sunny morning, as thousands of spectators lined the streets.

Independence Day gatherings returned to Alaska Sunday. Anchorage and Juneau were among the cities that hosted Fourth of July parades that drew large crowds to the streets. In Anchorage, 35 different groups marched and slow-rolled around the Delaney Park Strip on a warm and sunny morning. Thousands of spectators lined the streets. The Anchorage celebration also included live music, food booths and a carnival. Juneau’s parade began near the Douglas Bridge and continued downtown.
Sunday evening, fans filled Mulcahy Stadium for a July Fourth doubleheader. The game was followed by midnight fireworks, which drew viewers from many vantage points around the area.
