After the most difficult year of her life, Alaska musher DeeDee Jonrowe needed this race. It was her therapy. Jonrowe lost her mother in July 2015 after the Sockeye fire, which burned her home to the ground. Jonrowe said the time she spent on the trail this year gave her the opportunity to contemplate what is next for her. She said her future will certainly include the Iditarod.
