The University of Alaska Anchorage volleyball team was selected Monday as the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships.
Its reward? Locking horns with powerhouse San Bernardino in the first round next week.
The NCAA tournament includes 64 teams in eight regions. The Seawolves (19-11) will face the Coyotes (25-3) -- who are seeded No. 1 in the region and ranked No. 2 nationally -- on their home court in San Bernardino, California.
The winner will travel to Los Angeles to play in the regional semifinals against either No. 4 seed Cal Poly Pomona (23-4) or No. 5 seed Cal State Los Angeles (18-9).
The Seawolves have made it into 10 of the last 12 tournaments.
