Busy day on slalom courses wraps up Alyeska Cup race series

The final day of the Alyeska Cup alpine race series in Girdwood was a full one — a total of four slalom races were held on two different courses, one for younger skiers on the Tanaka Hill and one for older skiers on the Alyeska Race Trail.

For the second day in a row, U-12 skier Finnigan Donley of the Alyeska Ski Club enjoyed a sweep of the overall titles among the younger set. He set the pace for the U-12 and U-14 boys in both slalom races.

For the girls, Ava Liles and Sophie Neuberger — both U-14 skiers — each claimed an overall victory.

In the first slalom for older skiers, U-16 skiers Hunter Eid and Piper Sage took the overall wins, topping a field that also included U-19 skiers.

The second slalom included UAA skiers, including two who cruised to the overall titles — Alix Wells for the women and Hughston Norton for the men. April Ingrim, a U-19 skier, was second overall among women and Eid was second among the men.
