Four skiers get two wins apiece in Alyeska Cup super-Gs

A quartet of Alyeska Ski Club racers swept the super-G titles Friday at the Alyeska Cup race series in Girdwood, where young skiers took center stage.

U-14 age-group racers Ava Liles and Nolan Quigley posted the fastest overall times in each of two super-G races.

Finnigan Donley and Abigail Kragt set the pace for U-12 skiers in both races.

Chloe Austerman and Johan Folds were on the heels of Liles and Quigley in both U-14 races. Less than a second separated Quigley and Folds in each race, while Liles held off Austerman by 1.07 seconds in the first race and eight-tenths of a second in the second race.

Donley finished a screaming 3.6 second ahead of the next U-12 competitor in the first race. Donley went on to win the second race by a strong margin as well.

Kragt held off Ava Schweiger in both of the U-12 girls races.

The Alyeska Cup, sponsored by Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic, continues Saturday with two U-12 and U-14 giant slalom races.
