Dimond, West Valley, Grace Christian and Wasilla advanced to the semifinals of the 27th annual Dimond Prep Shootout boys basketball tournament Thursday at Dimond High.
The host Lynx knocked off Palmer 66-36 behind a huge game from Isaiah Moses, West Valley beat Juneau 77-46, Wasilla edged Chugiak 43-36 and Grace rocked Kodiak 66-35.
Moses scored a tournament-best 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting for Dimond, which will face Grace in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Andrew Beck scored 22 points to lead the Grizzles, who were led by 15 points from Jaren Miller and 13 from Kayden Ingram-Lamebull in their win over Kodiak.
Wasilla will play West Valley in Friday’s 7 p.m. semifinal. The Warriors got a game-high 26 points from Luke Devine against Chugiak, while the Wolfpack got past Juneau with a balanced effort that saw 11 players get in the scoring column, led by Javon Phillips (16 points), Terrell Peter (14) and Dylan Erhart (11).
Chugiak will play Juneau-Douglas in Friday’s 4 p.m. consolation round, followed by Palmer vs. Kodiak at 5:30 p.m.
