Dimond High ties riflery conference record in win over West

Dimond's A team tied an 8-year-old conference riflery record Friday by shooting a 1,162 in a 7-0 win over West.

The score ties the Cook Inlet Conference record set by Dimond in 2009.

Three Lynx shooters fired 290s or better in the Cook Inlet Conference competition at West High.

Dimond was led by Jasmine Kobayashi's match-high score of 295. She shot a perfect 100 in the kneeling position.

Kobayashi last week set a new CIC individual record with a 297 in a win over Chugiak.

Fellow Lynx Jerica Manaois scored a 291 and Johnna Drew scored a 290 on Friday.

West was led by Sarah Wolski's 290 with a perfect 100 in the prone position.

"It was a really good match and West shot really well," Dimond coach John Snead said. "West shot an 1,138 which is a respectable score. We shot well today."

In other meets, Eagle River swept Bartlett 7-0 and Chugiak swept East 7-0 on Friday and South beat Service 5-2 on Thursday.
