Schmidt cashes a third time

Ryan Schmidt of Anchorage has finished in the money again, racking his third cash-in at the 2010 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Schmidt finished 92nd in a field of 1,245 entrants in a No Limit Hold 'em Six-Handed event and won $5,211 -- the event required a $2,500 buy-in, or entry fee.

Schmidt earlier in the tournament, which includes 57 different events, finished 40th in a No Limit Hold 'em event to earn $17,309. He also finished 137th in a No Limit Hold 'em event and bagged $3,413. Schmidt has accumulated winnings of $25,933 in this WSOP.

Only 12 players have cashed more often than Schmidt in this WSOP -- all dozen have cashed four times. Schmidt in 2009 cashed twice at the WSOP.

Nine different Alaskans have cashed in the tournament this year. Top position among Alaskans in terms of winnings belongs to Calvin Kordus of Anchorage, who earned $223,069 for his third-place finish in a No Limit Hold 'em event.
