A sports camp for blind and visually impaired youths ages 8-19 will be held July 12-17 at Birchwood Camp in Chugiak.
Camp Webber activities include swimming, track and field, beep baseball, goalball, archery, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and more.
Alpine Alternatives, a nonprofit that provides recreational opportunities for disabled children, is putting on the camp with assistance from volunteer counselors who are teachers, visual specialists, adaptive physical education teachers and teachers’ aides.
