Anchorage's Adam Klie picked up another award this week for his ability to combined athletic success with academic success.
Klie, who last spring wrapped up a record-setting career for the UC San Diego men's basketball team, was named the Division II scholar-athlete of the year by the Conference Commissioners Association.
Klie, a Service High graduate, has collected numerous awards for his achievements on the court in the classroom since the end of the basketball season.

He graduated from UC San Diego with a 4.0-grade-point average, a degree in bioengineering and an NCAA post-graduate scholarship. He ended his college basketball career as UC San Diego's all-time Division II leader in scoring and rebounding (1,524 points, 625 rebounds). As a senior, he was named Player of the Year in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Klie was chosen from a field of eight regional scholar-athlete award winners. The women's award went to golfer Marie Coors of St. Leo University in Florida.
