Jeff Overbaugh was among the 14 players cut Tuesday when the Los Angeles Rams reduced their NFL roster to 75 players ahead of the NFL's deadline.
The Service High graduate and former San Diego State long snapper joined the Rams over the summer as an undrafted free agent after not missing a snap in more than 500 attempts during his four years with the Aztecs.
"It was an incredible experience with the rams," Overbaugh said by cellphone. "It was pretty sweet to be involved with an organization with such great history. Nothing but great things occurred with the Rams and I'm super proud of my time with them."
Overbaugh said he will perform a workout for another NFL team Friday.
NFL teams have until Saturday to finalize their 53-man rosters. Then, they will fill their practice squads.

If Overbaugh doesn't make a team, there likely won't be an Alaska player in the NFL this season for the first time in years.
Zack Bowman, a Bartlett graduate, played in 10 games for the Miami Dolphins last season, but was released at the end of November and has not signed with a team this season.
Bowman, 31, played his first NFL season in 2008.
Overbaugh said he made big strides this summer adjusting to pro style punting schemes. In the NFL, all the action happens right around the long snapper, whereas he had more room to maneuver in college schemes, he said.
"I learned so much with the Rams because it was my first time in a pro scheme," Overbaugh said. "It was a great place to learn the things I needed to learn.
"The special teams coach, John Fossil, is awesome and took more than the time that he needed to help me make those improvements."
Overbaugh said he's hopeful those improvements will help him land a spot on another team.
