Alaska String Camps: Session I
Designed with the younger string player in mind, Session I is open to students who have completed grade four, five or six and have at least one school year of playing experience. For three days and two nights students participate in orchestra rehearsals, small group instruction, fiddling, music theory and outdoor recreation. The experience culminates in a family concert on the final day of camp.

Session II is open to developing string players who have played for at least one school year and have completed seventh or eighth grade. Session III is open to advancing students who have played for at least two years and have completed the ninth grade. Past electives have included lessons, chamber music, fiddling, composition, ballroom dancing, music of different cultures, electronics in music, film music and technique. The camp is five days and four nights and ends with a family concert.
