The line to enter Senshi Con on Saturday stretched almost around the entire Anchorage city block. Unicorns, winged heroines, battle-scarred futuristic soldiers, Pokemon catchers and furry creatures of all shapes and sizes filled the streets early Saturday morning for the first of two days of Alaska's largest celebration of Asian culture, animation, gaming and graphic novels.
A big part of the convention is cosplay, or costume play, where participants go to great lengths to create costumes that embody their favorite characters from graphic novels, games and animated shows. Winners will be announced on Sunday, and in the meantime visitors can catch some of the costumes during the cosplay chess tournament, or milling among the many vendor tables at the Egan Center.
