JUNEAU — Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has announced town hall meetings in Homer, Seward and Kenai as part of his “Conversations with Alaskans” series. The meetings will take place March 9-11.
The governor said on social media Thursday that he intends to have “a discussion on Alaska’s fiscal realities and how we can put our state on a path to prosperity for generations to come.”
Here’s where and when next week’s meetings are happening:
• March 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Kenai Central High School in Kenai, 9583 Kenai Spur Hwy.
• March 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the AVTEC Gym in Seward, 519 Fourth Ave.
• March 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Land’s End Resort in Homer, 4786 Homer Spit Rd.
The governor is facing a campaign to remove him from office and has abandoned a plan to balance Alaska’s budget with multibillion-dollar cuts. The governor has said he wants to hear from Alaskans before announcing a replacement strategy.
The governor in February canceled town hall meetings in Wrangell and Petersburg because of bad weather. He launched his speaking tour on Monday in Chugiak.
