A 28-year-old woman was found dead Friday morning after falling into a swift-moving creek on Thursday in Denali National Park and Preserve, according to a news release from the park Saturday night.
KC Boehly of Seattle, who worked at Camp Denali, had been camping with a coworker in the park's backcountry and was trying to cross a swift-moving tributary of Stony Creek when she fell in and was swept downstream, according to the release.
About 40 people searched for her before her body was found on Friday morning by a Park Service helicopter crew, the release said.
The park has experienced several days of rain and rivers and creeks are running high and fast, according to the release.
