After-work hikes in the Anchorage area: Where’s your favorite spot?

One of the best things about living in Anchorage is how easy it is to get outside, especially during the long summer days.

With that in mind, we're launching a new series at ADN with tips and suggestions about outdoor recreation, including hiking, biking, fishing, camping and more.

And to do that, we need your help.

Here's the idea:

Each week, we'll ask readers for advice about an outdoors-related topic. Then, we'll collect some of the best suggestions and compile them into an article.

This week we want to talk to you about after-work hikes around the Anchorage area.

If you have time after work, what's your favorite trail to go to and why? How difficult is it? Any tips people new to that hike should know?

Send your after-work hike suggestions to me at thanlon@adn.com, or post your advice in the comments below. Please include helpful details about the hike: Name of the place, where exactly, and why you like it. (Bonus for sharing photographs of the trail and the views).

Check adn.com next week for a crowd-sourced list of some of the best after-work hikes in the Anchorage area.
