Letter: I thought we didn’t like China

I find it remarkable that our members of Congress removed the “outbound investment” provision from the government shutdown bill that restricted the ability of Americans to invest in technology factories in China so that our unelected official Elon Musk could set up his AI data center in China. I had thought that we didn’t like China, or outsourcing generally, but I guess it’s OK if MAGA billionaires are the ones doing the talking. And I find it very disappointing that our mainstream media has failed to highlight these national security and economic threats and instead has focused on whom is on first in D.C.
