After a pleasant dinner last night, I was dismayed to find an electronic apparatus thrust at me to pay for the meals and to include a tip. That is when it occurred to me that a chef preparing and presenting a plate of good food, and my enjoying an evening out, was simply a business deal! Any rapport that was established with the waiter was ruined by this electronic device. I would like to decide what a tip should be without “suggestions” and I do not want the cost presented so that everyone at the table views it. I will not return to that restaurant or go to any others that I know use these devices.
