As a longtime ADN reader, I’m comfortable with the perspective it carries. The same for my Channel 2 news habit. NPR is my go-to for radio.
Now take the longtime consumer of Fox News, Newsmax, or similar media. They believe every word coming from Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, etc., and likely consume the same perspective on social media.
Take this test: listen to the opposite media viewpoint for a whole program. I couldn’t do it listening to Rush or watching Fox news. That didn’t even last 5 minutes for me. Maybe you’re stronger, find out.
We’re becoming more polarized daily and it’s not going to get better with time. Billionaires and corporations are pouring massive amounts of money into controlling the narrative. When you have someone legally giving a million dollars a day to get you to vote, it’s obvious that anything goes.
Maybe someday, we’ll realize that voting is important enough to make it a national holiday. Maybe someday, we’ll have a higher voter turnout than 64% in such an important election. I’m not expecting much of a change.
