After reading a news article on Oct. 13 about vehicle-pedestrian incidents, I must say I’m surprised there are not more injuries/deaths on Anchorage streets. Among the reasons: Pedestrians walking on the roadway, not wearing reflective clothing, ignoring crosswalks, no attention paid to traffic lights or other signage, being rude to both drivers and other pedestrians.
Over the past few weeks, I have myself come close to hitting a person several times who ignored one or more of the above listed items.
