Jim Minnery, executive director of the Alaska Family Council, admits he doesn’t know anything about Judge Adolf Zeman, apart from the judge’s decision not to allow the use of home school money to fund private schools. Minnery’s single-minded view of Judge Zeman’s suitability to serve ignores all other pertinent criteria, including the judge’s temperament, knowledge and efficiency.
Furthermore, Minnery and his ilk also set themselves up as judge and jury to rule on a woman’s most personal of decisions, like the birth of a child. Fortunately, Minnery and the Alaska Family Council represent the views of a minority of voters. Let’s hope their influence remains in the minority for many years to come.
