Letter: Dump RCV

The ranked choice voting (RCV) method creates confusion and does not pass the smell test. When instructions are needed on how to cast a simple vote, there is significant deception involved, allowing for mistaken voting results.

According to a local news item, this was put to the voters to help re-elect an incumbent. Only one other state besides Alaska uses the RCV system; this should indicate something is wrong with the system.

In the past election, if we had had our normal and correct voting system in place, we would have had a new U.S. senator and representative.

I certainly hope the residents of Alaska vote to change the RCV system; it needs to go in the trash can where it belongs.
