Letter: Spay, neuter, microchip and adopt

As the executive director/ CEO of the Alaska SPCA, I see firsthand the profound difference we make in the lives of animals and their families. Our goal is simple but powerful: to improve the quality of life for pets and people through responsible pet ownership and adoption from our no-kill shelter.

At our veterinary clinic, we offer low-cost spaying, neutering and microchipping services. These aren’t just routine procedures — they’re essential. Spaying and neutering prevent unwanted litters, reducing overpopulation and easing the strain on shelters.

Microchipping ensures lost pets have the best chance of being reunited with their families. A small act that makes a big difference.

Our adoption center is a refuge for animals in need of loving homes. Each dog and cat receives medical care, vaccinations, and most importantly, love from our dedicated staff and volunteers. But we can only continue this work with your support.

As a private nonprofit, we rely on donations from compassionate individuals. Every gift helps us save lives, keep clinic services affordable, and provide care for animals in need.

Together, we can create a brighter future for Alaska’s animals. Thank you for being part of this vital mission.
