My name is Jo Reid, and I’ve coached soccer with Adolf Zeman for four years. Adolf Zeman is an assistant coach for the Alaska Thorns girls’ soccer team and serves on the board for Special Olympics Alaska and the University of Oregon Alumni-Alaska Ducks.
As a coach who has served alongside Zeman for several years, I can attest to his ability to listen, truly listen, to the concerns and ideas of others. His respect for different perspectives allows him to support the growth of the team and the players. Zeman approaches coaching with the mindset of building not just athletes, but strong, resilient young women.
Zeman is not just a coach, a board member, or a community leader. He is a person of integrity, someone who leads by example, listens to those around him, and advocates for fair treatment. In every role he takes on, he creates a space for others to thrive, and in doing so, makes Alaska a better place for everyone.
As a community member, I care about democracy, upholding the constitution of Alaska, and the high-quality process by which we select and retain judges. I support the Alaska Judicial Council’s recommendations for judicial retention. That’s why I’m voting to retain my colleague and friend, Judge Zeman, on Nov. 5.
