Letters to the Editor

Letter: Bad information

It is very clear that the true enemies of Republicans in this election are facts. Every anti-Kamala Harris and anti-Mary Peltola ad I see or hear is an unrelenting geyser of lies, half-truths and misrepresentation. It is exhausting and reflects the rot among the leadership and core of the GOP today.

Citing a string of bogus excuses, Donald Trump pulled out of a long-scheduled “60 Minutes” interview that has become a 50-year tradition among presidential candidates simply because the garbage he spews could not withstand real-time fact-checking.

That so many campaigns remain so close at this late date is largely the fault of “news” organizations that perpetuate the lies of candidates and their proxies among viewers, listeners and readers who seek and receive their information from no other sources. Sadly, the majority of them seem prepared to vote against their own best interests.
