Letter: Kachemak Bay State Park

I would like the folks who visit the Kenai Peninsula and those who live here to know that they have a beautiful state park that can be visited without the expensive boat trip across the bay. The accessible park is just down the East End Road from Homer, around mile 17, give or take.

Unfortunately, finding a place to park is problematic. There are a few places to pull off, but it is worth it. The colors are fantastic, and there are a few trails. I am told there are plans for more parking and more trails.

Just check it out; I am sure you will be glad you did.
