I heartily agree with everything Jeanne McKee so clearly articulated in her letter requesting the removal of the new fourway stop at Huffman and Hillside Drive. Besides slowing the flow of traffic and worsening fuel efficiency, the stop will add new challenges once we have snow.
The first part of Upper Huffman is steep enough that even with all-wheel drive and snow tires, it often takes a running start to be able to climb it. Now residents will be forced to choose between running the stop sign or paying for a hotel in town. This is poor planning, and it’s upsetting to know that the sign was installed in contradiction to the study results. Who benefits from this?
