Letter: The Gish Gallop

I recently read about a rhetorical technique called the Gish Gallop. This technique is characterized by “overwhelming your opponent with as many arguments as possible, with no regard for the accuracy, validity, or relevance of those arguments.” It is a shotgun approach to debate.

It appears to me that Donald Trump is a practitioner of this twisted style of disinformation. I don’t know if he has been coached in this twisted style in the presentation of non-facts, but he has effectively used it to his advantage on a lot of good people who, unfortunately, take him at his word.
