Letter: Losing a son

As a mother whose son died Nov. 15, 2020, I have felt a particular empathy for those mothers whose children have died. I have followed the story of the families whose children have been held hostage by Hamas, in particular Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

At the Democratic National Convention, his mom collapsed. Today I collapsed with grief. I am thankful that these six souls were able to share their hopes and fears with each other for almost a year. RIP.
