Letter: Muldoon Road wall danger

For years, the decorative block wall along both sides of Muldoon Road before it hits the Glenn Highway has been in a dangerous state of disrepair. It appears that the wall was poorly constructed; blocks fall onto the sidewalk in big chunks and there they stay. Pedestrians — of whom there are many in this community — and bike riders must negotiate these obstacles.

Who is responsible for the maintenance of the wall? And why has this eyesore existed in this particular community for so long?

And yes, I have called both the Municipality of Anchorage and the state’s road maintenance departments, and they both pointed the finger at each other.
