Having spent a lot time working and hunting in Alaska’s backcountry, I do not think drinking water will be much of a problem on the proposed “Long Trail.” As a youth, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on the Appalachian Trail, and the time spent there helped mold the person I became.
Alaska’s Long Trail will have some remote and challenging sections, but with today’s technology, safe drinking water will be the least of hikers’ challenges. I support Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s work for Alaska’s Long Trail!
