Letter: Portents of the future

One thing to be sure of is that as Gaza continues to be devastated, Vladimir Putin’s Russia will keep a close eye on the inability of the “international community” to do anything to intervene, even with humanitarian relief.

One can almost hear the thoughts emanating from the Kremlin: “If Gaza can be so effortlessly destroyed with no effective resistance from an impotent Western world, what is preventing Russia from marching through Europe?

Nothing. It can be done, hopefully, if Trump is reelected in America.” A return to the Cold War Soviet-era standoff?

Is this what MAGA America, NATO or any other country really wants?

The death of Alexei Navalny must surely give a hint of what can be expected as we “go forward.”
