Having served two terms as Anchorage’s mayor, I know the work it takes to strive to make Anchorage a safer, cleaner city with excellent recreational, educational, and employment opportunities — in other words, a more livable city.
It’s not easy. No mayor can reach that perfection in just six years. But a good mayor can accomplish some of those goals and put the city on a path toward achieving all of them. A good mayor needs to create his or her vision, promote it tirelessly, and mobilize our residents to help start our city on that path toward better livability.
We have a candidate for mayor who fits that description and who, I believe, will get our city started on that path — Bill Popp. Popp was raised in Anchorage and has been, for the past 16 years, president of the Anchorage Economic Development Corp.
I’ve known Popp for nearly 20 years, and he is committed to getting us on a path to making Anchorage a great city for all of us to live, work and play in.
I’m supporting Popp for Anchorage. I hope you’ll consider doing the same.
