Wow! Just when you thought it couldn’t possibly be worse than last year, it is! Granted, it is a lot of snow, but never in a lifetime of living in Alaska have I experienced such chaos days after a storm. In Airport Heights, as of the evening of Nov. 13, we are still waiting to be plowed out after last week’s snowfall.
While the municipal officials declare they are “caught up,” we are literally unable to make it home. Garbage trucks stuck, schools canceled, mail trucks being towed, pieces falling off cars as they navigate the ruts on C Street — I have seen it all, but not a plow in sight. Come on! Hopefully, there are no medical emergencies on my street tonight.
