Letter: Bear massacre

Tony Knowles’ and Matthew Kirchhoff’s commentaries were spot on in regards to the decision by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to the massacre of bears and wolves as published in the ADN’s July 23 edition. The waste of these animals for no reason is appalling and disgusting. Even when their own biologist showed that the caribou were starving to death, they went ahead and needlessly destroyed these bears and wolves. Perhaps the only way to change this ongoing mismanagement is for the powerful environmental organizations to call for a boycott of Alaska’s sacred tourism industry; I hope it doesn’t come to that.

This is only one example of the Dunleavy administration’s mismanagement.
