Letter: Bear killing

Michelle Bittner is right about the Department of Fish and Game’s screw-up on killing all those bears.

Why did they let outsiders come to kill and brag back at their desks about their caribou hunt in Alaska?

This is so sad for me, who started going to Brooks Camp in 1951 when my father, John Walatka, managed the camps. I guess they didn’t know what the obvious outcome of — and response to — their plan would be. How can they make it better? I am very upset about their not letting the public know about this life-changing plan ahead of time.
