Letter: Judy Eledge’s debts

So Judy Eledge has resigned; great! But I still have unanswered questions: Why is it that the taxpayers of Anchorage have to pay the bill (potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars) for the worksite issues this woman caused? Does she still have access to municipal retirement benefits? If so, can those benefits be garnished? Does Mayor Dave Bronson have any personal equity in this, given that he has supported her to the point that she felt “unfirable?”

I have one more question: In the April 28 ADN Politics podcast (thank you, ADN!), reporter Kyle Hopkins mentions that Eledge has had many contracts with the state Department of Education over the years, to the tune of “hundreds of thousands of dollars” for Govs. Sarah Palin, Sean Parnell and Mike Dunleavy.

Hopkins reported that Eledges’s latest contract, which required a reading comprehension report as the deliverable, cannot be located, per his request to the Department of Education. Has this report since been found? Does it contain actionable information? Can the public view it? Bottom line: Is it worth the money? I’d like to know.
