Congratulations must go to Chris Constant; with the aid of the last Anchorage Assembly, draconian rules and laws were put into place making it easier to replace the mayor. Then the newly elected liberal Assembly elected him as the chairman of the Assembly. This puts him in the catbird seat.
If Mayor Dave Bronson is removed, something the Assembly and Constant have been angling to do, Constant will become the mayor of Anchorage — a position he knows the residents of Anchorage would never vote him into.
