Letter: Separation of church and state

Unfortunately for us Alaskans and for the reputation of the Republican Party, the state party officials have forgotten their civics lessons and violate the spirit of the United States Constitution by bending over backward to modify state actions at the suggestion of a particular religious group that seeks to impose its idea of morality over that of all others.

One can agree or disagree with the morality of that particular choice, but the ethics of how these officials acted in implementing the change are sorely lacking. Such changes deserve public input, not merely that of some religious leader.

This is one of the factors to consider when voters choose whom to support.
