Letter: Not representing constituents

How is it that Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor has decided to speak for all Alaskans by filing a brief in favor of overturning the use of the abortion drug mifepristone (ADN, Feb. 14)? It is common knowledge that at least 60% of Alaska voters support the use of the pill and that the FDA considers it safe and effective.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy, along with conservative Christian Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, appear to be headed toward making Alaska “the most prolife state in the entire country,” despite what the voters have said. How about paying attention to what constituents have to say about this issue instead of trying to use your offices to advance your personal agendas?
