Last February, I formally asked the municipality to reduce my duplex’s assessment after a fire caused $191,000 in damage. Months went by without word of the progress of my request.
Finally the 2022 assessment came: Apparently, the Bronson administration figured the fire made the property worth $20,800 more. But the mayor gave me a note congratulating himself for lowering my taxes.
